The Boulevardier and Negroni are practically cousins. If you like one, you’re bound to like the other. Both share the sweet, bitter flavour of Campari and vermouth (or in our case, Byrrh). The difference is in the base. Negronis are made with gin, whereas a Boulevardier uses whisky to get that signature smoky, smooth serve.
Preparation. Step 1. In an ice-filled shaker, combine the vermouth, shrub and lemon juice. Cover and shake vigorously until well chilled. If serving over ice, fill a Collins glass with ice and strain the cocktail into the glass. If forgoing the ice, strain into a Nick and Nora or coupe glass.

Instructions. At least 8 hours before serving, make the eyeballs using a cylindrical ice mold. Place a toothpick in the asterisk* of the olive, and place the red pepper side down. Repeat. Cover, carefully wiggling the toothpicks through the holes of the mold. Fill with water and freeze until solid for at least 8 hours.
Herb & Wood Boulevardier. -2 ounces of Glenfiddich IPA. -.75 oz Gran Classico Bitter. -.75 oz. Lustau Vermut Rojo. -.25 oz. Dry Curacao. Stir ingredients on ice until well-chilled. Strain and serve up in a coupe or Nick & Nora glass, with a burnt, expressed orange peel.
