If you buy them seperately, they'll cost more in total. Yet it's less of an impact to go per-item (-> poor being expensive). But they do go on sale quite regularly, so if you got some patience, you will be fine. It's just hard to track the sales down. They're all over the place. HoT here, PoF there, etc, etc.

Guild Wars 2 was released in 2012 and was fairly ambitious at the time. The optimisation suffer and that's true. The dev won't redo the engine because that's just too much work. If your computer don't have a lot of proc and a bunch of RAM you're going to need to put the quality on low especially when doing content that involve a lot of players.

If you buy the expansions you only geht Access to the specific Stories of the expansions (HoT and PoF). ALL living Story Episodes need to be bought seperatly with gems (you can convert ingame Gold to gems aswell to get Access). Even If the Deluxe Version of PoF used to state Something different (it is very missleading there..).
